The Halloween Events Near Me app lets AI assistants (ChatGPT and Claude) search the Halloween and fall events listed on halloween-events-near-me.com. It is run by Big Weekend Calendars, the company behind halloween-events-near-me.com. The app has no sign-in and sets no cookies.
What the app receives
- Your search: the place you named, dates, filters (for example "free" or a type of event), keywords and, for event details, an event id.
- Approximate location, only for "near me": if you ask for events near you without naming a place, we use the approximate location (city, region, country) that ChatGPT shares with the app, to pick the place to search.
- Anonymous ids: ChatGPT sends an anonymous id for the user and for the conversation. They are not your name or account.
- IP address: the address of the computer calling the app (normally ChatGPT's or Claude's servers).
We do not receive your name, email address, account details or your conversation with the assistant.
Why we use it
To run your search and show the results; to keep the app working and fix problems; to limit how many searches one person or computer can run per minute (to prevent abuse and runaway costs); and to count how many different people use the app and which searches they need.
What we keep, and for how long
For each search we log the tool used, the search terms and place (including an approximate location used for "near me"), the number of results, which assistant sent it, and a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of the anonymous ids. These logs are deleted automatically within 7 days. We use IP addresses only at the moment of the request, to apply rate limits and recognize ChatGPT's and Claude's servers; we don't store them. We keep daily totals (such as the number of searches) that contain no personal data.
Who receives it
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes requests and stores the logs for us. No one else. We don't sell or share this data, don't use it for advertising and don't build profiles or try to identify you.
Your choices
- Disconnect or remove the app in your ChatGPT or Claude settings at any time.
- Name a city in your question instead of asking for events "near me", so no location is used.
- Email us to ask what we hold about your searches or to delete it (logs delete themselves within 7 days).
Links to our website
Event cards link to pages on halloween-events-near-me.com. Those links carry a tag that tells our site the visit came from the app. Once you open a page there, the website's own privacy policy applies (it uses analytics and advertising cookies).
Children
The app is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13; it does not knowingly collect information from them.
